Our Projects

On this page, we want to inform you about some of our past and ccurrent projects.
This includes activities that we organised and/or took part in, since 2005.

Studying Chinese Culture

Already in the years before the Association was founded, we were active in China, stayying there for longer periods of time, visiting multiple times, touring the country.
One of our initial founders studied sinology at the time, which is the study of the Chinese, including their language, literature, history, and culture.

Staying in China allowed them to explore different cultures in the different regions of China, getting to know the functionings of the country. By studying at a local university, they then also managed to gain insight into the Chinese Educational System.

Fundraising for Chinese Schoolchildren

To attain our goals of enabling a better educational opportunity for schoolchildren, we tried to raise funds for support projects starting in 2008. After an earthquake destroyed much infrastructure in central China, we decided to primarily focus on the provinces of Guizhou, Sichuan, and Yunnan. The main donation campaign involved raising funds to build a new school building.

In addition to this, we also welcomed donations for our scholarship grant project, intended to support the individual student financially on their journey through primary school, junior high school, senior high school, and university.

Distributing Drawing Utensils

In both Tajikistan and Papua New Guinea, we distributed toys, stationary, and drawing utensils to local children that did not have these available to them.

Many of the schoolchildren we distributed these to either did not have access to shops selling such materials as they lived too far away, or were not able to afford buying them. We believe that creative arts go hand-in-hand with academic education, and especially young children need to be able to express themselves creatively.

Our future goals:

At the moment, our time in Papua New Guinea is slowly drawing to a close, and as such we are trying to make use of it as best we can.

We hope that in the time that we have left here we will still be able to go and meet schoolchildren away from central urban areas, and of course will bring colouring books nad pencils with us.

We are also excited for where we will go to next, as this is uncertain as of yet. A new country allows us to get to know new cultures, and new schoolchildren, whom we also hope to support if they can be supported in any way.
